Poor Bastard XR6 owner:

Gday

I recently had a shocker in my XR6 ute. My wife and I went camping and the camping area was a lot further off the highway than I thought - and I had bugger all fuel. It just about ruined my weekend thinking about how the hell I was going to get back to the nearest servo on our way home.

Anyway, we had a good weekend and it was time to pack up and head home. I was coasting down hills and nervously looking at the glowing fuel light which was staying on (and seemingly getting brighter!) Turned out I had just enough juice to roll into the servo and with a huge sigh of relief, I got out to fill the ute up. That's when I found that MY FUEL KEY WASN'T ON MY KEYRING!!! I stared at my keys in disbelief - 'Where the hell could they be??!!!'

I rang the RACQ and the bloke took just under an hour to get to us as he was having a Sunday arvo round of golf! Anyway he got the fuel cap off pronto (and got back to golf) and I filled my ute right to the top and promised never to let it run on empty again!

In the end it cost me $20 to get some new keys cut. I've sinced found the old keys - so now I've got 4 keys for the fuel cap....should be handy!!!
