Poor Bastard XC Owner:

Once I owned my dream rig. As every tradesman dream is a tough working class
UTE.

My Dream ute was a '77 XC GS Ute, same as the old man had (except his was brand new went he got it!). Big 351, Auto, 9inch diff (no excuses for being late to the job site tornado creator). In 1992 after a couple of years pedaling around in cheap S#@T jap wagons and utes saving the coin, my dream came true. Spent a big wad on my dream ute, put her on gas (to save $$ for the accessories only, of course), got the ubeaut stereo with CD player and enjoyed 3 1/2 of the best years of my life with her!

Then one NICE Wednesday morning ( if you can have a nice morning getting up for work a 4am in the middle of winter) I go out to the ute and bugger me ......... she's gone.......... Some drugged up, misserable excuse for a human being decided he liked my ute more than I and stole her from my driveway over night (with all my tools in the back, murphy's law, Bloody typical). The cops came and did their thing, joy riders they thought and me with no theft insurance....... That ain't the worst........ Friday night I get a call from the Police........ Found your car........... But you don't want to see it...... looks like she's history. She'd been involved in a rather major accident.... so off I go to see how bad, and arrange to get it taken home (don't want a big towing bill).

My dream car was gone..... It's 6 years later now and I've got another ute, a '74 XB and over the last 3 years we have being restoring her and customising her!!!!!
