Poor Bastard Bec:
Howdy All,
I was having a laugh at the expense of some other ute drivers when I thought I should share the experiance of a friend with you guys. A friend of mine had a ford longreach, bout a '95 model, white, not a bad ute and it could go too, it used to cut out at 198Km/hr as my boyfriend discovered, it was a wild ride!!.
On the fairly common occasion that I had to drive the ute, (pretty much every time I went out with the boys co's they got trashed), I was pretty much ripped to shreds for sticking to the speed limit (well, basically the speed limit) and for driving carefully along my mates gravel back road which is notorious for roos.
Well one day my mate was driving into town, along the back road, when what should be in the middle of the road but a dirty big roo. Of course being from the country one would think that he wouldnt panic and lock up the wheels, of course what did he do, panicked and locked her up.
She drifted, a lot, hit a drain, flipped over a couple of times, and ended back on the tires. Luckily my friend wasnt hurt. It was basically written off so the same day he went and bought (oh shame of shames) a sedan, so now he is the "family man".
Unfortunately I cant say that Im free of sin. Driving home from uni I had tried to be a good girl, but you guys know what its like in a ute they just go soooo nicely, well 19Km/hr over the speed limit, there goes $188 and three points, and worst of all my ticket for the B&S!!!!!! But it could have been worse, say if the cop had caught me in the 90Km zone. Oh well maybe we will learn from our mistakes, eventually.
