Over 17 months ago, I was driving my 1981 WB Ute to visit my girlfriend. On the highway at night a 4x4 in front, drove over a truck re-tread tyre and flicked it up behind. It hit the front of my car, doing 90km/hr. A lot of damage was done but i was told if I was doing an extra 10km/hr it could of smashed through the windscreen and killed me.
So I turned around went home and left the ute with my dad while I got a lift with a mate to where I was going. Two days later I came home to find my Ute with a new front. A different colour but still new. My dad had fixed it for me in less than two days. Only a few weeks ago I finally got around to finishing off the front of my Ute with a Statesman front and lights.
Apart from blowing up the old 6 cylinder and having problems with a new engine. She now runs on a V8 282 twin Lukey exhaust system. She's my Ute. First bought in Feb 2000 and I wouldn't want anything different.
